Kay Granger, U.S. House of Representatives from 12th District of Texas is a leader in national defense and global security, serves and fights for the 12th congressional district of Texas. She was elected to her 14th term in 2022.
Since making history in 1997 as the first Republican woman to represent Texas in the U. S. House of Representatives, Granger has earned her reputation in Congress as an influential conservative leader.
The 81-year-old Republican has been living in an assisted care facility after suffering a decline of her cognitive abilities. Her last vote was cast on July 24, 2024 and she continues to receive her tax-funded salary.
I'm sure she is as generous and dedicated to her Party as ever, but isn't it time America considers term limits and/or age limits on our elected officials?
Note from this editor: I do not know this lady and I do not write this blog to hold her up as a criminal of any kind. I hold her up as an example of our out-dated laws concerning politicians who have fulfilled their duties as a long-time fighter for our American democracy and are deserving of a retirement.
It is time to pass the torch and welcome in new members to the U.S. House of Representatives. . . from any political party!
