The Truth Matters To Me!
Kellyanne Conway, U.S. Counselor to the President Trump, used a phrase in 2017: "Alternative Facts" during a Meet the Press interview, in which she defended White House Press Secreteary Sean Spicer's false statement about the attendance numbers at Trump's inauguration. The numbers were of little importance to most Americans, but the phrase caught the attention of nearly ever one of us. We saw the handwriting on the wall and came to know what kind of administration we were facing. They became more proficient at using "alternative facts" to sell their lies to their loyal base.
With that disgusting rhetoric, a new kind of politics was born in America by the Republican Party: Lies and more lies!
Today, as a loyal American and scribe of the news, I am expected to print the news verbatim. If I don't, I am libel for the harm it may create. However, Republicans have not lived by that rule since the day Trump entered the White House. To them, they declare the lies to be simply "alternative facts" and we are to accept them as such.
It will take a damn good attorney to one day sort out the lies of these fabrictors, charlatans, prevaricators, snakes, fibbers, deceivers, and con artists! Someone who intentionally and habitually tells lies to the extent that Trump does can be labeled as a psychological liar. However, when his supporters back up his lies - that they know to be lies - the problem is greatly compounded!
I take no joy in calling the president of the United States a liar, but I also take no joy in having to admit my president is a snake.
He is returning to office in 22 days. If he continues his style of governing, I will not parse my words in criticism of him, either.
A con man who must depend on lies to be the leader of the American people, is neither a leader nor much of a man!
