All Men Are Created Equal, Until Our Politics Steps In

I am finding that I don't know half as much as I thought I did about politics in this country. We are not a democracy. We are not a land of the free. And, we are not a government of We the People.

What we are is a government ruled by quiet and not-so-quiet rich oligarchs who's worth is considerably higher than the rest of us. If you remember your history, as reflected in the "Three-Fifths Clause" of the U.S. Constitution, meaning that for the purpose of congressional representation, enslaved people would be counted as only 60% of a free person as stated during the 1787 Constitutional Cenvention. It lasted until after the Civil War. and on August 20, 1866. President Johnson issued a proclamation announcing the end of the American Civil War: "And I do further proclaim that the said insurrection is at an end and that peace, order, tranquility, and civil authority now exists in and throughout the whole of the United States of America."

Today, February 6, 2025, I proclaim "that is bullpuckey! No one can prove to me we are "at peace, order, tranquility, and that civil authority now exists in and throughout the whole of the United States of America,"

When the last oligarch is on a log raft and paddling his little butt away from our shores, will I accept that proclamation. When there is political peace, order and tranquility beaten into the skulls of our political parties and cults, will I accept that proclamation,

However, until the day Donald Trump, Elon Musk, JD Vance, Mike Johnson and an ungodly horde of Republican/MAGA congressional men and women are thrown out of the hallowed halls of our Capitol, such lies and proclamations will only fall on deaf ears across the land!

And only until then will we have a truthful proclamation!
