Any similarity to a person living or dead. . .

The American Nero

Trumpius Maxium Nero Caesar was born in modern day Americus and was the last of the Caesars. He, like one of his distant relatives Nero, has also been charged with "burning down" the seat of power in Americus. He was tried and found guilty by the Senate of trying to overthrow the duly elected replacement president and the established democracy.

Trumpius has spent numerous years trying to cover up the guilt he carries and to cleanse his name. He will pay any amount and blame anyone, just to whitewash the lies he has told America and the world about January 6, 2021.

His idol from long ago, Emperor Nero, was of a similar mind and rotten reputation. He was declared a public enemy and condemned to death in absentia. Nero fled Rome, and on June 9, 68 AD, committed suicide. Wise choice!

Nero was popular with the lower classes and referred to them as his "base." Historians have called him tyrannical, self-indulgent and debauched. He was a man with many sexual perversions and an obsession with performing for large crowds (called rallies?). He was also widely regarded as the worst of all Roman emperors.

I, however, am not intending to lay any similarities between Nero and a neo-emperor of modern times.
