Montana Is 46th In Teachers' Starting Pay
While the devious mind of our president is busy with bigger fish to fry, such as eleminating the federal department of education all together, our thoughts here in Montana are also on the wages of our school teachers.
Montana comes in at 46th out of 50 in the horrible ranking of starting teachers' salaries. What does that tell a teacher just starting out in their chosen carreer? What does it tell them about beginning or continuing their career in Montana?
Our political scene here is rated from bleak to deplorable. The category of education is near the bottom on Republican's radar. They jump at the chance to do something for most any other career choice, but education is nearly non-existent. As I said in the beginning, Montana's political party is more comfortable with the federal move to eliminate the entire education department.
If I was considering a teaching job in Montana, would I hit myself in my head several times with a hammer - or would I go check out the starting salary in other states?
Montanans will wake up one day and see how much our political choices are holding us back.
You do understand there is a fundamental difference in the parties, right?
