Bill the Cat, a fictional cat in the works of cartoonist Berkely Breathed, appeared in the comic strip, "Bloom County." It became a favorite of time, at times besting my all-time favorite "Pogo." As a cartoonist, I became hooked on political cartoons and syndicated myself for a period of years in various newspapers.
So, why do I give Bill the Cat a top billing in my blog? It's simple: Bill has a look about him that has no equal when you think about Trump's disasterous beginning of his second bungled term of office. Everything that could go wrong, has. From trade wars that have all gone awry, to choices of weird and unqualified nominees to his cabinet (or as someone said, ("It's not a cabinet, it's a junk drawer") has all smacked him right in the face.
Sadly, his own stupid ideas must take credit for why he has that "Bill the Cat" look. If he is, indeed, a very rich smarty pants businessman like he says he is, "Bill" is not the look he should have gone for!
But, the term of office is new and Trumpy has many new and weird things to try out on America. He's already thinking about dumping the Department of Education, the Department of the FBI, the Department of Landfills and Restaurants, and a move to give up on the name Republican Party and call all of them "Suckers and Losers."
That should tickle the dickens out of Bill the Cat.
